Why do you go up a size on the mandrel? Is the sizing incorrect on a mandrel?
I think the main reason is that when you wrap around on both side of the bead at the end, you would be down sizing the ring a bit. So, in order to get the size you want in the end, you need to go up a size first.Hope this explains it! :)
